XTC - Black Sea
***½
Arty, post punk songs though the tunes and instrumental parts aren't as memorable as its classic predecessor Drums & Wires. This may be because I've had Drums & Wires for years and have gradually grown to love it. Furthermore, I already knew 3 of the best (known) tracks on Black Sea - the singles Sgt. Rock (Is Going To Help Me) and Generals & Majors and indie / rap / funk of Living Through Another Cuba - before hearing the album and when this is the case, the other tracks on the album can often sound disappointing. Probably a grower though I suggest you buy the edgier Drums & Wires or a singles compilation instead
Released - 1980

XTC - The Singles 1978-85
****

Singles compilation ranging from excellent, imaginative, slightly left-field post punk pop to the less memorable later numbers. Several fantastic songs.
Released - 1986 ?
Acquired by Me: 20.11.00 - Borrowed (Library)
